Well, I thought I'd be making a blog entry from France about now. However, the French Consulate in Chicago really didn't care about our plans. Instead of leaving on June 22nd, like we planned, we now hope to be leaving on July 3rd. Just in time to arrive in France for the big July 4th celebration. I wonder how they celebrate our Independence Day, hmmmmm.
For the meantime, we will just be hanging out in a hotel for another week and eating out for almost every meal. It's not nearly as much fun as it might sound at first, even with a pool.
I know that there have to be hundreds of you out there checking my blog daily, so I apologize for the delay. I'll be sure to update with stories and pictures as soon as I have both.

Those darn French. I bet if you called the guy at the consolate "Pepe LePew" he might get rid of you quicker (or possibly make you stay indefinitely in Chicago...it's a toss up).

hey matt
i feel sorry for that. so my welcome message on facebook was a little too early.
and jason, lemme tell you, it's not only the darn french. always when it comes to formality there are unforseen complications, whether they are french, canadien, swiss or u.s.... (and i have experienced a quite a bit uncomforabilities with the u.s. border control for example...) ;)
well, hope everything will work out until the scheduled date so you can celebrate your independence day in france - eventhough i have to tell you knwo, that they will probably NOT celebrate it at all...!
but i'm sure there will be a huge party on the july 14th - the FRENCH national day.
vive la france!
